Thanks to you, FWDO hosts a very successful 8th event!

Thanks so much to all of you who attended our May 5th FWDO, held once again at theMarquis on Magnolia event center. The event was attended by more than 130 guests who enjoyed a delicious dinner provided, as always, by Chef Allen Lutes. Our theme was homelessness in Fort Worth, and we heard from three very different and worthy causes.

To recap...
Advent Urban Youth Development (AUYD) talked about how they are helping under served urban neighborhoods by providing youth with tangible love, holistic resilience, and authentic community.
The Fort Worth HOPE Center talked about how they are inspiring HOPE and providing resources for children and families to build happy, healthy, successful lives and communities.
West Aid talked about how they offer food assistance to the disadvantaged of Fort Worth.
At the end of the evening our guests voted again, this time for our Next Fort Worth Dish Out Theme. After an intense round of real-time text voting, we are pleased to announce that our next theme is Child Advocacy.
Regarding the microfinancing aspect of the FWDO event, we had a huge night! AUYD was our winner for the evening and will receive $1,725.00 (Largest Grant to Date!).  Fort Worth Hope Center and West Aid will each receive grants of $575.00. Part of our ability to keep costs at a minimum came from a generous donation from The Marquis on Magnolia that covered the cost of the venue, for which we are so appreciative. We also received wine donations and beer donations!!!.  Thanks to everyone! You made this a great event!

We look forward to seeing you at the next FWDO! Stay Tuned!
